Nobody scouts more high school football in Oklahoma than Scout.com and OKPreps.net’s/SoonersIllustrated.com’s Greg Powers. In this feature we pool a number of resources to get a fair shake on the best players in the state.

First Team:

Quarterback:

Tyler Tetteleton (Norman North, 6-0/180, Sr.)- Clint Chelf is pretty good, but despite not playing a year ago, It looks like Tyler Tettleton could have the most upside at the position.

Running Back:

Jeremy Smith (Union, 5-10/195, Sr., Oklahoma State Commit)- Smith is a natural running back that feels his next move. Thrown in some physical attributes and it is quite a package.

David Oku (Carl Albert, 5-10/185, Sr.)- Oku is blessed with an extra gear that not many possess. He can score anytime he touches the ball.

Receiver:

Tramaine Thompson (Jenks (5-9/180, Sr., Oregon State Commit)- Tramaine does not get a whole lot of credit for Jenk’s success in 2007, but he will be the MVP of this year’s offense.

Thomas Roberson (Union, 6-3/185, Jr.)- The lone junior to make the All-State team. He will be battling for catches in a talented offense, but he has unreal potential.

David Gordon (East Central, 6-1/190, Sr., Arkansas Commit)- Gordon should probably be listed as a corner, but he is unbelievable at receiver. He not only catches the ball, but he gives it his all un blocking assignments.

Tight End:

Tracy Moore (Union, 6-2/205, Sr.)- Moore is a flex tight end that has some unbelievable skills for a bigger receiver. He has some flash, and may be one of the state’s most underrated players.

Offensive Line:

Alvin Bailey (Brokem Arrow, 6-4/300, Sr. Arkansas Commit)- Big time blocker with a nice frame. His biggest asset last year was his strength, but he should be even more disciplined in 2008.

Brandon Webb (Owasso, 6-4/285, Sr. Oklahoma State Commit)- Webb is a road grader that is going to be so much better for his complete dedication to football. He is unbelievably athletic.

Brian DeShane (Union, 6-4/285, Sr., Tulsa Commit)- DeShane is so polished it is amazing. He has taken a huge role as a team leader in ’08, and that leadership could help the Skins in their title hunt.

Gavin Howard (Owasso, 6-5/270, Sr., Kansas Commit)- Howard gets overshadowed a little by Webb, but he has a prototypical tackle body and moves well.

Michael Bowie (San Springs, 6-5/305, Sr., Kansas State Commit)- Bowie did not get a whole lot of publicity, but people sure found out who he was after he committed to Kansas State.

Defensive Line:

Pearlie Graves (East Central, 6-3/260, Sr.)- Graves could be one of the top two or three best players in the state. He has a good motor and eats up lineman with his speed and athleticism.

Trent Dupy (Enid, 6-2/270, Sr. Tulsa Commit)- Dupy is strong as an ox. Not a lot of people talk about his game, but he moves well, is in great shape and uses his hands as good as any you will see.

Nathan Badger (Norman North, 6-1/240, Sr.)- Badger and his teammate Beau Traber will lead the Norman North defense this season. If he is just a little bigger then he has some nice D1 offers.

Gabe Ikard (Bishop McGuinness, 6-5/250, Sr.)- Ikard is probably more valuable in high school ball on the defensive side of the ball, where he helps the team to State Championships.

Linebacker:

Gus Jones (Wagoner, 6-2/220, Sr., Oklahoma Commit)- Jones will lead the Wagoner on offense at running back and on defense at middle linebacker. They should contend for a 4A title.

Cody Wilson (Lincoln Christian, 6-1/220, Sr., Tulsa Commit)- Wilson plays for a small school, but he is big on talent. Not too many linebackers can continually run a 4.0 pro-shuttle.

Ronnell Lewis (Dewar, 6-3/220, Sr. Oklahoma Commit)- Lewis will be making an adjustment to 11-man football this year, but with his talent the an adjustment should not be too difficult.

Terrell Williams (Union, 6-3/205, Sr.)- Williams made the move down to linebacker at Union, and it seems to be a much more natural position.

Defensive Back:

Gabe Lynn (Jenks, 6-1/180, Sr.)- Lynn is the lock down guy for Jenks out at corner, and he holds offers from most of the major schools in he country.

Daytawion Lowe (Carl Albert, 6-1/180, Sr.)- Lowe is a major player for Carl Albert’s defense. He is a team leader and a headhunter coming up against the run.

Javon Harris (Lawton MacArthur, 6-0/180/ Sr., Oklahoma Commit)- Harris is very good coming up from his safety spot to defend the run, and is now even more of a defender in the passing game after working at some elite summer camps.

Justin Skillens (Washington, 5-10/170, Sr., Tulsa Commit)- The last DB spot could have went to a handful of guys, but Skillens will be playing at the most elite level and has an uncanny knack for making big time plays.
